The next five photographs are close-ups of typical symptoms of PPV in 'Encore' peach as first identified in Adams County, Pennsylvania in 1999. Since every effort has been made to eliminate PPV-infected peach trees in Pennsylvania, many of the symptoms shown may no longer be available as a reference since those trees have now been destroyed.

This fruit showed obvious yellow rings on the red skin background at harvest.

Fruit spots were not always bright yellow but often only showed lighter shades of red on red skinned varieties.
